« on: February 10, 2012, 12:43:02 AM »
Are you guys using jigs or are you freehanding the grind. Ive tried too make a couple jigs but didnt like the way it turned out. If youre using jigs, would you mind sharing a pic or two.

Man, I had a whole jig build post in my old vendor forum, but it's gone now.

I'll post some pics when I get a chance. I know a lot of guys just lay the blade on the tool rest and grind away, but I like using a jig.

Ok, here are some new pics of my jig. I built it using 1/4" thick, 2" aluminum angle, and a 1/4"X2"X4" piece of aluminum plate. (approximately)

yes dear...

Thanks for sharing.  I'm still grinding by hand...

And madmax, I know the story.  Anytime "scratching" is happening (sanding, filing, drilling, etc), my wife doesn't ask what's going on, she just closes the door to wherever I am and puts on earmuffs... and then I have to clean up my own mess... good times.
What's that smell?
